High performance gaming in the cloud?

Nintendo has just announced the DSi handheld gaming system. The update adds an SD card slot and 512MB of internal memory as well as two cameras. The outer camera is a three-megapixel model, while the inner utilizes VGA (0.3 megapixels) resolution.
A free web browser is now built-in and exploit exisitng Wi-Fi capability that has been present in all three DS models. The new music player sofware allows users to load as many songs as free memory allows.
Screens size is slightly increased from 3.0 to 3.25 inches and the system is physically slimmer due to the removal of the legacy Game Boy Advance slot.
Nintendo’s Wii store experience is brought to the new device as the DSi Shop. It’s expected to use Nintendo Points and allow owners to buy and download apps and games.
Availability is November 1st in Japan at $179 USD, while North American dates are left up in the air.

The folks over at Haklabs claim to have broken the Apple AppStore FairPlay protection. On a quick read, it sounds like you can manually copy applications to the iPhone if you’ve jailbroken and the applications will run properly.
If this is true, the only gatekeeper is the iTunes desktop application itself. This does sort of make sense because music works exactly the same way. You’re allowed to put DRM’d music on as many iPod/iPhones as you want.
Looks like this could be a real reason for many to jailbreak- too bad all the applications are digitally signed with an email address.

This Inside Edition TV news report from 1988 introduces both Nintendo & Super Mario Brothers to the american public.
Apple started what promises to be a torrent of news and updates last night with the release of iTunes 7.7, the App Store, MobileMe and an AppleTV update.
iTunes does have the apps available and I’m ready to load some:
Apple claims more than 500 apps online and there sure are loads in there.
As for MobileMe, apparently it won’t go live until later in the day although some users were able to install it late last night.
