140it Says “Rur-Roh”

Regaining my focus on the clever 404 pages of the world wide web (now on computers for those of you who were waiting), I caught this humorous error screen this morning at 140it.com.  140it exists for one reason- to makes your tweet less than 140 characters.

Facebook error

Even big bad Facebook isn’t immune to the occasional web app error.  It is a bit rough when you get this on their homepage.

nycgo.com goes gaga for google

New York City Major Michael Bloomberg announced a new web resource today on the Google Blog.  A video details how you can explore all NYC has to offer while leaning heavily on Google technologies.  Google maps, earth, APIs and of course mobile are all there.

The new Official New York City Information Center at 810 Seventh Avenue, between 52nd and 53rd Streets features some great, Google-powered interactive map tables.  Not only can you navigate the city, but you can create personalized itineraries and take them with you.

Check it all out on nycgo.com.  Apparently NYC loves Google! who knew?

SolarWinds have blown over the web server

Not too comforting to find an application error in the website of a network security package you are about to evaluate. SolarWinds needs a lesson in .Net application security.  Quite the verbose error message for a hacker looking to get started.

New Music Search Tool: fizy / videomusic

I spent some time today checking out fizy.  Fizy is an audio search tool which looks inside of videos for the music.  They describe it as an easy to use online jukebox searching a library of more than 50 apis.

There are no playlists or downloads, but the audio selection is enormous- upwards of 75 billion!  Rick Turoczy over at ReadWriteWeb said: “Diving through the Fizy music selection made me nostalgic for the good old days of Napster when I could find practically any song I wanted to find.”  It isn’t quite that good, but it does provide a huge selection.
