Abstract:
The principles by which music and musical instruments work are dependent on the the physics of waves. This report compares the differences in the sound of the violin, oboe, and timpani drum in terms of timbre, production of musical notes, and tuning. The source of waveform and wave resonance pattern is also discussed. Finally, the concept of resonance and harmonics will be presented.
